Listening to a Cassette Tape (TAPE 1 or TAPE 2)

Tape Playback - Listening to a Cassette Tape (TAPE 1 or TAPE 2) -

Before playback:

zFor playback, use normal or low-noise tapes for the best sound.

(Metal or CrO3 Load a cassette into the TAPE 1 or TAPE 2 tapes are not recommended.)

zDo not use C-120 tapes or poor-quality tapes, as they may cause mal-

functions.

zBefore loading a tape into the cassette compartment, tighten the slack with a pen or a pencil.

Playback is possible in TAPE 1 compartment as well as in TAPE 2.

1 Press the ON/STAND-BY button to turn the power on.

2 Open the cassette door by pushing the area marked "5 Press the  /  button to start playback. PUSH EJECT".

3 Load a cassette into the TAPE 1 or TAPE 2

cassette compartment with the side to be played facing toward you.

4 Press the TAPE (1 Fast forward/rewind: (TAPE 2 only) 2) button to select the cassette you want to listen to.

5 Press the Manual background / Manual background button to start playback.

When playback is performed using the remote control, press the TAPE 1 or TAPE 2 Manual background button.

To stop playback:

Press the Manual background (TAPE Manual background) button.

Fast forward/rewind: (TAPE 2 only)

1 Press the Manual background (TAPE Manual background) button, then press the TAPE (1 Manual background 2) button to select TAPE 2.

2 To advance the tape, press the Manual background PRESET Manual backgroundManual background (TAPE 2 Manual background) button. To rewind

it, press the Manual backgroundManual background PRESET Manual background (TAPE 2 Manual background) button.

Caution:

z To remove the cassette, press the Manual background (TAPE Manual background) button, and then open the compartment. z Before changing from one tape operation to another, press the Manual background (TAPE Manual background) button.

zIf a power failure occurs during tape operation, the tape head will remain engaged with the tape and the cassette door will not open. In this case, wait until the power is restored.
