SIDE CUTTER ATTACHMENT

By using the Side Cutter Attachment, you can do trimming and overedging fabric in one operation.

Attaching the Side Cutter Attachment

1.Turn off power switch and unplug machine.

2.Raise needle and presser foot.

3.Attach presser foot (A).

4.a. Attach Side Cutter Attachment (B) from rear of machine with fork lever (C) on needle clamp (D).

* Make sure that needle clamp screw (E) is securely tightened.

b.Insert pin (F) into hole (G), and mounting lever (H) into hole (I) on the needle plate.

Machine setup

5.Select stitch pattern:

*Overedge stitch at widest width for seaming and overedging on two layers.

*Zigzag or overedge stitch at widest width for overedging on single layer.

*Straight stitch at left needle position for seaming on two layers.

6.Set stitch length at default setting.

7.Set sewing speed at medium to lower range.

Preparing fabric before sewing

8.Mark a trimming line (J) on fabric.

9.make a cut (K) of about 1“ (2.5 cm) from the edge with scissors.

Starting to sew

10.Raise needle and presser foot.

11.Place fabric onto guide bar (L) as shown:

a. Put left side (M) of cut under presser foot and pull it

through to needle plate.

b.Insert right side (N) of cut into the right of knife (O).

12.Lower presser foot and turn hand wheel by hand to check

that needle does not touch presser foot.

13. Start to sew.

Note:

1.Always check that fabric (M) and (N) runs smoothly and correctly in the feeding direction.

2.Always check that needle does not touch presser foot.

3.When sewing thin fabric, stretch fabric slightly when it is being trimmed.

4.Keep fingers away from knife, fork lever and knife guide to

save possible injury.

5.Clean dust and lint on the Side Cutter Attachment, feed dogs and shuttle area after use to save sewing problems.

NOTE: Peel off protection paper taking care not to touch knife before use.
