Using the Remote

You can operate the receiver and other units with the remote. A display shows the current unit being operated. With Cursor key, you can easily select a function, disc, or number.

About the remote’s display

The remote’s display shows the unit being operated. It also lights up when you press Cursor key or buttons when the unit is operated.

To select the units you want to operate.

Press FUNCTION and then move Cursor key until the desired source appears in the remote’s display. Push Cursor key when the desired source appears.

Each time you move Cursor key, the source changes as follows.DVD t VIDEO1 t VIDEO2 t TV/SAT t MD/DAT t TUNER t M1 t M2

Notes

When you operate the receiver, select “DVD,” “TUNER,” “M1,” or “M2.”

To operate a TV, VCR, satellite receiver, or other unit with the remote, you need to set the manufacturer code for each unit. To set manufacturer codes, see “Controlling Other Units with the Supplied Remote” on page 65.

Tip

You can also operate the TV with the remote in any selection. For details of TV operation, see “Controlling TVs with the remote” on page 65.

To select a disc by using the remote’s display

Press DISC and then move Cursor key until the disc you want appears in the remote’s display. Push Cursor key when the desired disc appears. Each time you move Cursor key, the remote’s display changes to “DISC1 -DISC5” or “D SKIP.”

To enter the number

Press NUM and move Cursor key until the number you want to enter appears in the remote’s display. Then push Cursor key.

Tips

When you enter the number more than double-digit, push Cursor key each time you enter the number.

If you select “TV/SAT” as the function for the receiver, you can enter a 3-digit number on the remote’s display.
