Adjusting the image and audio settings

1 Press DVD SETUP in stop mode.

The Setup Display appears.

Note

When a JPEG disc is in the system, the Setup Display does not appear.

2 Press < or , repeatedly to select “AV”, then press ENTER.

3 Press M or m repeatedly to select an item, then press ENTER.

4 Press M or m repeatedly to select a setting, then press ENTER.

5 Press DVD SETUP to turn off the Setup Display.

xTV Type

Select the aspect ratio of the connected TV. The default setting varies, depending on the country model.

4:3 Pan Scan Select this when you connect a 4:3 screen TV. This setting displays the wide picture on the entire screen and cuts off the portions that do not fit.

4:3 Letter

Select this when you connect a 4:3

Box

screen TV. This setting displays a wide

 

picture with bands displayed on the

 

upper and lower portions of the screen.

 

 

16:9

Select this when you connect a wide-

 

screen TV or a TV with a wide mode

 

function.

Set the DTS settings to enjoy 5.1 channel sound when an optional amplifier is connected (see “Enjoying the 5.1 channel sound with the optional amplifier” on page 38).
