To search for a particular point using the time code (DVD only)

— Time Search

1In step 2, select “TIME/TEXT”.

“T **:**:**” (playing time of the current title) is selected.

2Press ENTER.

“T **:**:**” changes to “T ::”.

3Input the time code using the number buttons, then press ENTER.

For example, to find the scene at 2 hours, 10 minutes, and 20 seconds after the beginning, just enter “2:10:20”.

Notes

You cannot search for a scene on a DVD+RW using the time code.

The title, chapter or track number displayed on the TV screen is recorded data on the disc.

Tips

When the Control Menu display is turned off, you can search for a chapter (DVD VIDEO/DVD-RW) or track (CD, Super Audio CD) by pressing the number buttons and ENTER.

You can view the playing time or remaining time of the disc. For details, see “Viewing information about the disc in the on-screen display” on page 51.

Searching by Scene

— Picture Navigation

You can divide the screen into 9 subscreens and find the desired scene quickly.

1 Press PICTURE NAVI during play.

2 Press PICTURE NAVI repeatedly to select an item.

xWhen playing a DVD VIDEO

TITLE VIEWER: displays the first scene of each title.

CHAPTER VIEWER: displays the first scene of each chapter.

xWhen playing a VIDEO CD

TRACK VIEWER: displays the first scene of each track.

3 Press ENTER.

The first scene of each chapter, title, or track appears as follows.

When there are more than 9 titles, chapters, or tracks, “V” appears at the bottom right of the TV screen.

To display the hidden titles, chapters or tracks, select the bottom scene, then press m. To return to the previous scene, select the top scenes, then press M.
