Do not leave the camera in the following places

In extremely hot place, such as in a car parked in the sun. The camera body may become deformed or this may cause a malfunction.

Under direct sunlight or near a heater. The camera body may become deformed or this may cause a malfunction.

On rocking vibration.

Near strong magnetic place.

Notes on use

Do not open the waterproof cover underwater, in places exposed to water, at the seashore or other places with lots of sand dust. Water or sand entering the inside of the camera may cause a malfunction or irreparable damage.

When not using the camera for a long period of time, turn on the power once every so often.

Shoot and play back images or otherwise operate the camera for about 3 minutes to ensure proper operation.

Do not connect the battery charger to an electronic type transformer or other overseas travel equipment. This may cause the battery charger to become excessively hot or cause a malfunction.

On charging the batteries

To protect the batteries, remove the batteries from the battery charger within 24 hours after charging is completed.

Charging the batteries in an ambient temperature of 10°C to 30°C is recommended.

On cleaningCleaning the LCD screen

Wipe the screen surface with an LCD cleaning kit (not supplied) to remove fingerprints, dust, etc.

Cleaning the lens

Wipe the lens surface with a soft cloth to remove fingerprints, dust, etc.

Cleaning the camera surface

Clean the camera surface with a soft cloth slightly moistened with water, then wipe the surface with a dry cloth. Do not use the following as this may damage the finish or the casing.

Thinner

Benzine

Alcohol

Diposable cloth

Volatile insecticide

Contact with rubber or vinyl for a long time

After getting the camera wet

Wipe away any water droplets on the camera body with a clean, dry, soft cloth.

Note that water remaining in the gaps on the camera body may get your clothes or the inside of your bag wet.

In cold places, water droplets may freeze on the camera body. Note that using the camera with water droplets frozen on it may cause a malfunction.

When sand, dirt or seawater adhere to the camera

If salt or other dirt is left encrusted on the camera, the metal portions may become damaged or rusted and result in water leaks. Follow the procedure below and clean the camera before opening the waterproof cover. Use tap water at 30°C or less to wash the camera.

1Leave the camera immersed in a bucket

or other container filled with fresh water.

Wash the camera by gently moving it back and forth to thoroughly remove any dirt, sand and salt. Then, let it soak for approximately

30 minutes.

Do not rub the lens or the LCD screen when they are dirty as this may cause scratches.
