Synchronized editing

Notes

The recording does not stop the moment you press pto stop editing. The source picture may be recorded a little longer than you expect.

If you record on the beginning part of the tape, or on the part just after an unrecorded portion, the first part of the recording may be dropped.

When you record on a new or fully rewound tape, do a trial recording for about 15 seconds, then start the actual recording. If you start the actual recording from the beginning of the tape, the first part may not be recorded when you play back the tape on another VCR.

You can synchronize starting and pausing of recording on this VCR (recorder) and starting and pausing of playback on the other VCR (player).

You need a player VCR equipped with a LANC jack for this editing. Connect the LANC jack on this VCR to that on the other VCR, using the LANC cable.

1 Locate the points where you want to start playback or recording. Then, set this VCR and the other VCR to playback pause mode.

2 Press EDIT STANDBY.

3 Press START/PAUSE.

Playback starts on the other VCR and recording starts on this VCR.

4 Press START/PAUSE the point you want to stop editing.

Both VCRs are set to pause.

If the tape passes the point to stop editing, press RECORDER and rewind the tape to that point, with the shuttle ring or jog dial.

5 To edit another scene, repeat steps 1 to 4.

6 To finish editing, press EDIT STANDBY.

Both VCRs stop.
