Warning and notice messages

Various messages appear on the monitor screen. Check them with the following list.

Meaning/Remedy

 

 

PLEASE INSERT A CASSETTE

Though no cassette is inserted in the cassette compartment, you press

 

(or EDIT STANDBY. nInsert a cassette.

 

 

PLEASE STOP THE TAPE

During insert pause mode, you try to change input sources.

 

 

PLEASE SET THE CLOCK

When turning on the power, the clock has not been set.

 

 

PLEASE CONFIRM THE SAFETY SWITCH OF

Check that the protect tab is slid in so that the red portion visible. n

THE CASSETTE

Slide back the safety switch.

 

 

PLEASE REWIND OR INSERT A NEW CASSETTE

You try to start playback or recording at the tape end. nRewind the

 

tape or insert a new cassette.

 

 

VCR IS RECORDING

You press a certain operation button during recording or editing.

 

 

YOU CANNOT CHANGE INPUT SOURCE DURING

During recording, you try to change input sources.

THE TAPE IS REWOUND

PRESS 0during at the beginning of the tape.

 

PLEASE PUSH POWER TO SET TIMER. (DSR-30P only) Turn off the VCR to make it enter timer standby mode.

 

 

YOU CANNOT INSERT 12 BIT IN 16 BIT SECTION

When you insert into STEREO 1 or STEREO 2 track of the tape recorded

 

in 12bit mode (Fs32k), the tape switches to 16bit mode (Fs48k) nInsert

 

in 16bit mode (Fs48k).

 

 

YOU CANNOT INSERT IN BLANK SECTION

You try to insert into an unrecorded portion.

 

 

PLEASE CHECK THE DV CABLE CONNECTION

When you execute Duplicate, etc., DV cable is not connected. n

 

Connect the DV connector.

 

 

THIS PROGRAM IS COPYRIGHT PROTECTED.

You try to dub the tape copy right protect signals are recorded.

 

 

NO CASSETTE MEMORY

You try to erase cassette memory.

 

 

CASSETTE MEMORY IS TOO LARGE TO ERASE

You try to erase “INDEX DATA,” “DATE DATA,” or “PHOTO DATA”

 

on a tape having more than 16 kbit memory capacity.

 

nErase “ALL DATA” on the tape.

 

 

WRITING ON CASSETTE MEMORY, PLEASE WAIT.

You do certain operation while the VCR is writing on cassette memory.

 

nOperate after writing on cassette memory is complete.

 

 

PLEASE CONNECT PLAYBACK VCR WITH LANC

During editing, the LANC cable is not connected or LANC MODE of

CABLE, THEN SET THE PLAYBACK VCR LANC

the playback VCR is not set to ”S.” nConnect a LANC cable or set

MODE TO ‘S’

LANC MODE of the playback VCR to ”S.”

 

 

THERE IS NO CASSETTE IN THE PLAYBACK VCR

During editing, no cassette is inserted in the cassette compartment of the

 

player VCR. nInsert a cassete into the playback VCR.

 

 

THE TAPE IN THE PLAYBACK VCR IS AT THE END

During editing, a tape in the playback VCR is at the end nRewind the

 

tape.

 

 

PLAYBACK VCR IS RECORDING

During editing, the player VCR is in recording mode. nSet the

 

playback VCR to playback mode.
