The CHG (charge) lamp flashes while the battery pack is being charged.

•Attach the battery pack to the camcorder correctly (p. 18). If the problem persists, disconnect the AC Adaptor from the wall socket and contact your Sony dealer. The battery pack may be damaged.

The remaining battery time indicator does not indicate the correct time.

•The temperature of the environment is too high or too low. This is not a malfunction.

•Fully charge the battery again. If the problem persists, replace the battery pack with a new one (p. 18).

•The indicated time may not be correct depending on the environment of use.

The battery pack is quickly discharged.

•The temperature of the environment is too high or low. This is not a malfunction.

LCD screen/viewfinder

The buttons do not appear on the touch panel.

•Touch the LCD screen lightly.

•Press DISP/BATT INFO on your camcorder (or DISPLAY on the Remote Commander) (p. 23).

The buttons on the touch panel do not work correctly or do not work at all.

•Adjust the touch panel ([CALIBRATION]) (p. 109).

Menu items are grayed out.

•You cannot select grayed items in the current recording/playback situation.

•There are some functions you cannot activate simultaneously (p. 97).

The image in the viewfinder is not clear.

•Move the viewfinder lens adjustment lever until the image appears clearly (p. 23).

The image in the viewfinder has disappeared.

•No image is displayed in the viewfinder when the LCD panel is open (p. 23).

Discs/“Memory Stick Duo”

The disc cannot be removed.

• Make sure the power source (battery pack

 

or AC Adaptor) is connected correctly

 

(p. 18).

 

• The disc is damaged or is dirty with

 

fingerprints, etc. In this case, it may take up

 

to 10 minutes to remove the disc.

 

• The temperature of your camcorder is

 

extremely high. Turn off your camcorder

 

and leave it for a while in a cool place.

 

Images cannot be deleted.

Troubleshooting

• Finalizing is interrupted by turning off your

 

camcorder. Turn on your camcorder and

 

remove the disc after finalizing is

 

completed (p. 55).

 

 

 

 

•The maximum number of images that you can delete on the index screen at one time is 100.

•Images cannot be deleted depending on the type and mode of a disc (p. 12).

Remaining disc space indicator is not displayed.

• Set [ REMAINING] to [ON] to always display the remaining disc space indicator (p. 66).
