Whenyou use the self-timer function, the subject is recorded 10 seconds after you

pressthe shutter button.

Select onthe LCD screen or on the finder with b/B/v/V on thecontrol button,

thenpress the center z. The (self-timer) indicator appears on the LC Ds creen or

onthe finder, and the subjectis recorded 10 seconds after you press theshutter

button.The self-timer lamp flashes after you press the shutter button until the image

isrecorded.

PressOPEN (FLASH) to pop up the flash. Theinitial setting is AUTO (no

indication).In this mode, the flash automatically strobes when the surroundings

becomeda rk. Tochange the f lash mode, press (Flash)repeatedly so that the flash

modeind icator appears on the LCD screen or on the finder. This setting can be set

onlywhen the flash is popped up.

Eachtim e you press the button, the indicator changes as follows.

Autored-eye reduction : The flashstrobes before recording to reduce the red-

eyephenomenon.

Forcedflash :The flash str obes regardless of the surrounding brightness.

Noflas h : The flash does not strobe.

Youcan change the amount of the flash light with[FLASH LEVEL]in th e menu

settings(pa ge 46).
