Turning off the display

— Power Saving Mode

The demonstration display (display window and buttons lighting and flashing even when the system power is off) can be turned off to minimize the amount of power consumed during standby (Power Saving Mode).

Press DISPLAY repeatedly while the system is off until the demonstration display disappears.

To cancel Power Saving Mode

Press DISPLAY while the system is off. Each time you press the button, the display switches as follows:

Demonstration display y No display (Power Saving Mode)

Tip

?/1 indicator lights up even in Power Saving Mode.

Viewing information in the display

Checking the remaining time and titles

You can check the playing time and remaining time of the current track or that of the disc. When the system detects MP3 discs, the “MP3” indication appears in the display.

Press DISPLAY during Normal Play.

Each time you press the button, the display changes cyclically as follows:

xWhen playing a CD/MP3

Current track number and elapsed playing time

tCurrent track number and remaining time or “– –.– –”1)

tRemaining time of the disc or “– –.– –”1)

tTrack title (CD-TEXT disc2) or disc with MP3 audio tracks3) only)

tVolume label or album name (disc with MP3 audio tracks only)

1)Remaining time is not displayed for discs with MP3 audio tracks.

2)When the CD-TEXT disc contains more than 20 tracks, the title of current track is not displayed from track 21 onwards.

3)When you play back a track with an ID3 tag ver. 1 or ver. 2, the ID3 tag appears. The ID3 tag displays only the track title information.
