Adding a memory module

To add a memory module, proceed as follows:

1Shut down your computer and disconnect all peripheral devices.

2Unplug the computer and remove the battery packs.

3Wait until the computer cools down.

The inside of a notebook becomes extremely hot during operation. Wait at least one hour for the computer to cool down before you remove the screws.

4Unscrew the screw at the bottom of your computer.

Use a precision Phillips screwdriver that matches the size of the screw head.

5Before you remove the module from its package, touch a metal part of the computer to discharge any static electricity accumulated on your body.

6Remove the module from its protective package.

7Install the memory module by holding the module edge connector pointing down and the notch on the right, and then insert it diagonally into an empty slot.

8Lower the memory module until it clicks into place on both ends:
