Null-modem cable (not supplied)

Turn off your computer and the peripherals, unplug the AC adapter and the power cord before connecting the null-modem cable.

Connect the power cord after connecting all other cables. Turn on the peripherals, then turn on your computer.

Be sure to use a null modem cable, which is a specially-designed crossed wire serial cable that allows two computers to be connected to each other. You cannot transfer data if you connect the straight cable.

To transfer data between computers, the software which supports the connection by serial cable should be installed on both your computer and the computer to which you want to transfer data.
