4 Apply gentle pressure to the back of the cartridge until the unit takes the cartridge and loads it.

Caution

Do not apply force to the cartridge after the unit starts loading it. Otherwise, the cartridge may rush out of the unit when it is ejected.

5 Close the front door to minimize any contamination from airborne particles.

When the cartridge is loaded, the TAPE MOTION indicator lights green or yellow.

Notes

•The host software controls the reading and writing of tapes.

•For details about the status of the unit as shown by the indicators on the front of the unit, see chapter 1.

Removing a Cartridge

When the cartridge is automatically ejected by your software

1 Press the DOOR button to unlock and open the front door.

2 Remove the cartridge from the unit and close the door.

When you eject the cartridge manually

1 Press the DOOR button to unlock and open the front door.

2 Press the Eject button. The cartridge is ejected automatically.

3 Remove the cartridge from the unit and close the door.

Caution

Do not push the eject button when the TAPE MOTION indicator is flashing.

This may destroy data on the tape.
