To stop recording

To stop the VCR while recording, press pSTOP.

To use the VCR after setting the timer

To use the VCR before a timer recording begins, just press 1/u. The indicator disappears from the display window and the VCR switches on. Remember to press 1/u to reset the VCR to the timer recording standby mode after using the VCR.

If “CLOCK” and “12: – – AM” appear alternately when you press DIAL TIMER

Set the clock by referring to “Setting the clock” (page 25). Alternatively, you can set the clock by following the steps below. As this method automatically sets the date to the factory setting (1/1/1999), you cannot make the correct timer settings using the menu. It is suitable only for the limited use of recording a program starting within the next 24 hours using the DIAL TIMER button.

Turn DIAL TIMER to set the hour.

Press DIAL TIMER.

Turn DIAL TIMER to set the minutes.

Press DIAL TIMER to start the clock.

Go to step 2 on page 54.

Tips

•The program is recorded in the current tape speed. To change the tape speed, press SP/EP before you complete the setting in step 7.

•To check, change, or cancel the program setting, see “Checking/changing/canceling timer settings” (page 58).

Notes

•If eight programs have already been set in step 1, “FULL” appears in the display window for about three seconds.

•The indicator flashes in the display window when you complete the setting in step 7 with no tape inserted.
