Warning indicators and messages

If indicators and messages appear on the screen or in the display window, check the following.

Slow flashing:

The file is corrupted.

The file is unreadable.

You are trying to use the MEMORY MIX function on a moving picture (p. 131).

Slow flashing:

The battery is nearly dead.

The E indicator sometimes flashes even if the remaining battery time is about five to 10 minutes depending on the operating conditions, environment and battery condition.

Fast flashing:

The battery is dead.

%Moisture condensation has occurred*

Fast flashing:

Eject the cassette, turn off your camcorder, and leave it for about one hour with the cassette compartment open (p. 194).

Warning indicator as to “Memory Stick”* (except DCR-TRV240)

Slow flashing:

No “Memory Stick” is inserted.

Warning indicator as to “Memory Stick” formatting (except DCR-TRV240)

Fast flashing:

•“Memory Stick” data is corrupted (p. 116).* •“Memory Stick” is not formatted correctly

(p. 111).

QWarning indicator as to tape

Slow flashing:

•The tape is near the end.

•No tape is inserted.*

•The write-protect tab on the cassette is exposed (red) (p. 20).*

Fast flashing:

The cassette has run out of tape.*

ZYou need to eject the cassette*

Slow flashing:

The write-protect tab on the cassette is exposed (red) (p. 20).

Fast flashing:

Moisture condensation has occurred (p. 194).

The cassette has run out of tape.

The self-diagnosis display function is activated (p. 184).

Slow flashing:

•The image is protected (p. 170).

Warning indicator as to the flash (optional)

Fast flashing:

There is something wrong with the external flash (optional).

* You hear the melody or beep.
