MMX Pentium 200 MHz or faster

The USB connector must be provided as standard.

Windows Media Player must be installed (to play back moving pictures).

Installing the USB driver

Before connecting your camcorder to your computer, install the USB driver on the computer. The USB driver is packaged together with application software for viewing images on the CD-ROM supplied with your camcorder.

If you installed the USB driver in “Viewing images recorded on tape on your computer” (p. 96), start from step 5.

For Windows XP users

The USB driver needs not be installed. Your computer is automatically recognized as a driver just by connecting your computer using the USB cable.

For Windows 98/98SE/Me, Windows 2000 Professional users

If you are using Windows 2000 Professional, log in with permission of administrator.

Start the following operation without connecting the USB cable to your computer.

Connect the USB cable in step 6.

If the USB driver has been registered incorrectly because your computer was connected to your camcorder before installation of the USB driver was completed. Reinstall the USB driver following the procedure on page 158.

(1) Turn on the power of your computer and allow Windows to load.

(2) Insert the supplied CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive of your computer. The application software screen appears.
