VU-CalThe display range of the VU meter can be shif ted using the -10d B
VU Cal switch position.
If the VU Cal switch is set to its 0 dB position and the output
level control is also set to 0dB with t he limiter switched off,
the output level will effec tively be 0 dBu. With the VU Cal set to
-10 dB the 0 dB mark on the VU meter will represent a +1 0 dBu
output level. This way you can display audio l evel higher than
+6 dB (up to +16 dB) on the VU meter.
SourceThis switch allows you to select be tween the Mic and Line/
Instrument inputs. All input s can remain connected at a ll times,
regardless of which input is selecte d. You can choose the Line
input as source as long as the Instrume nt Input is not being
used.
If you engage this switch first a fter powering up the unit, there
can be a noticeable pop due to the discharge of residual c urrent.
This is normal and no cause for concern.
Central DisplayThe display consists of all status L EDs and the VU meter so that
all important information c an be viewed without dist raction.
Display/VU MeterThe VU meter shows the internal gain le vel (not the output
level). Its scale ranges fr om -20 dB to +6 dB. If needed, the sen si-
tivity can be reduced by 10 dB, which ex tends the scale to +16 dB
(see “VU Cal“ above). Pleas e refer as well to the information
“About Gain Adjustments” on page 10.
