Assembling your raclette

Remove any packaging, stickers or accessories inside and outside the appliance.

Remove the trays. Take out the different elements that make up the trays (handles and pans). To assemble the trays, attach the handles (A) (ribs facing downwards) to the pans (B) (oval or square shape, according to the model) until they click and lock into place. On turning over the trays, check that they are assembled correctly. fig. 2 The trays are not removable.

Do not place the appliance directly on a fragile, non-flat surface (glass table, cloth, varnished surface, etc.).

On first use, pour a little cooking oil on the non-stick grill plate and trays, spread over surfaces then wipe off any excess with an absorbant kitchen towel. fig. 3

Place the appliance on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface: do not use the appliance on a soft or unsteady base eg. a tea-towel.

Be careful how you place the cord, so that it does not get in the way of guests moving around the table.

Check that the electrical installation is compatible with the power and voltage indicated on the bottom of the appliance.

Only plug the appliance into a wall socket with an earth connection. fig. 5

If an extension cord is used, this must have an earth connection and rated accordingly.

If the power supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

Never leave the appliance plugged in when not in use.

Never leave the appliance unattended when in use.

Cooking

Allow appliance to pre-heat for 5 to 8 minutes.

Do not leave the trays in the appliance while empty.

During first use, the appliance may give off a slight odour and smoke.

Do not touch the metal parts of the appliance while in use; they are very hot.

After use

Do not handle the appliance before it has cooled down completely. fig. 10

Never immerse the hot plate in water.

Clean the grill plate, the trays and the base of the appliance with a sponge, hot water and washing up liquid. fig. 11

If food is burnt onto the grill plates, leave them to soak for a few hours before cleaning. Always clean the grill plates

Do not use scouring pads or hard abrasive powder. fig. 12

Do not let the plate and the panlets soak in water.

Storage

Remove the grill plate.

Wind the cord around 3 or 4 legs and secure it in one of the cord grips. fig. 14

Place the trays 2 by 2 then slide them underneath the element. fig. 15

Put the grill plate back into place. fig. 15

Prevention of accidents in the home

For a child, even a slight burn may sometimes be serious.

As they grow up, teach your children to be careful with hot appliances in the kitchen.

If your appliance is used in the company of children or disabled persons, always use it under adult supervision.

Do not touch the hot surfaces of the appliance.

If an accident occurs, rinse the burn immediately with cold water and call a doctor if necessary.

Never use the appliance if it is not working correctly, or if it has been damaged. If this happens contact the Helpline.

Any solid or liquid foodstuff that comes into contact with the parts marked with the logo should not be consumed.

Cooking fumes may be dangerous for animals which have a particularly sensitive respiratory system, such as birds. We advise bird owners to keep them away from the cooking area.
