To enjoy Dolby digital audio, your televi-
sionor audio system must be able to decode
Dolby digital audio, and you will need to
obtain a S/PDIF cable. Plug one end of
thecable into the S/PDIF socket on the digi-
talreceiver, and plug the other end into the
matchingsocket on your audio system.

2.4.3 Connectingto your video cassette recorder

Thedigital receiver can also output video to another appliance
suchas a video cassette recorder or video receiver through an
auxiliarySCART connector.
You will need to obtain a SCARTcable to
usethe auxiliary SCART connector. Plug one
endof the cable into the VCR socket on the
digitalreceiver, and plug the other end into
the matching socket on your video cassette
recorderor suchlike.
2.5 Switching on for the first time
Nowthat you have your digital receiver connected, you should
plugit in to a mains socket. Ensurethat your television set is
turnedon, so that you will be able to see the display from the
digitalreceiver.

2.5.1 Insertingbatteries in the remote control

Toinsert the batteries, open the battery compartment by remov-
ingthe lid, and then insert the batteries observing the polarity,
whichis marked on the base of the battery compartment.
Ifthe digital receiver no longer reacts properly to remote con-
