The system indicator panel is a series of lights that glow

when certain functions are being performed by the system.

For more information, see “System indicator panel” on

page 32.

The lights on the indicator panel provide information about

keyboard functions. For a description of these lights, see

“Indicator panel” on page 31.

The TouchPadTM enables you to move the cursor with the

stroke of a finger.

The front panel provides a palm rest to assist you in

maintaining proper posture while using the computer.

The primary and secondary buttons below the TouchPad

act like the buttons on a mouse, with primary and secondary

functions.

NOTE: For environments that do not permit wireless use or

instruct you to turn off all radio devices (for example, aboard

commercial aircraft), you should turn the Wi-Fi switch off.

The caps lock light glows when you press the Caps Lock key.

When this light is on, pressing a letter key on the keyboard

produces an uppercase (capital) letter.

Error-checking Your hard disk seems very slow. Your data files are damaged or corrupted. Some programs run correctly but others do not. A diskette will not go into the external diskette drive. Some discs run correctly, but others do not. WinDVD problems: General issues WinDVD controls are disabled. Playback performance is poor. The Root or Title menu does not open. WinDVD performance decreases after making a system change. Slow playback performance. WinDVD problems: Content issues WinDVD will not function properly with debug software installed. The computer stops working (hangs) when you insert a PC Card. Hot swapping (removing one PC Card and inserting another without turning the computer off) fails. The system does not recognize your PC Card or PCMCIA socket controller. A PC Card error occurs. Printer problems The printer will not print. The printer will not print what you see on the screen. Modem problems The modem will not receive or transmit properly. The modem is on, set up properly and still will not transmit or receive data. Develop good computing habits Save your work frequently. On a regular basis, back up the information stored on your hard disk. Read the users guides.
