The Grand Tour

This chapter identifies the various components of your computer. Become familiar with each component before you operate the computer.

Front with the display closed

The following figure shows the computer’s front with its display panel in the closed position.

Bridge media slot	This slot lets you insert an SD™/SDHC™
	memory card, miniSD™/microSD™ Card,
	Memory Stick® (PRO™/PRO Duo™), xD-Picture
	Card™ and MultiMediaCard™. Refer to Chapter 8,
	Optional Devices.

Keep foreign metal objects, such as screws, staples and paper clips, out of the Bridge media slot. Foreign metal objects can create a short circuit, which can cause damage and fire, possibly resulting in serious injury.

If you reformat an SD/SDHC memory card, be sure to reformat it with a device such as digital camera or digital audio player that uses the SD/SDHC memory cards, not with the format command provided within Windows.
