On-screen display operation

: DNR

You can view a picture with less video noise.

Press / to select then press ENTER.

Off: The DNR picture enhancement does not activate.

On: The DNR picture enhancement activates.

Notes

Actual picture enhancement may vary depending on the quality of the disc.

While the picture enhancement can provide improvement in the reduction of noise in the video signal, it may produce undesirable picture artifacts on some discs. Should this occur, select “Off.”

Depending on the disc, some kinds of picture details may be lost by the picture enhancement.

:Closed Caption

You can display closed captions included on a disc without connecting a closed caption decoder to your TV.

Press / to select “On” or “Off” then press

ENTER.

Off: To disable closed captions.

On: To display closed captions.

Notes

While you are using on-screen displays (including the bit rate display), you cannot view closed captions. After selecting “On” then turning off the on-screen display, closed captions will appear.

When “On” is selected, some displays such as “ ” may be disabled.

:Bit rate (Mbit/s)

Amount of picture, sound and subtitle data in the DVD video disc transferred per second. The larger the value is, the more data processed, but this does not necessarily insure better picture quality.

To keep the bit rate display on-screen:

Press / to select “On” then press ENTER.

e.g.

To turn it off, select “Off.”

The following operations also select “Off”.
