Recording a TV Program

This VCR can record in VHS, S-VHS and S-VHS ET. This section explains the basic recording operation.

Preparation

Select the video channel (3 or 4) or video input mode on the TV.

If you record cable channels via the cable box, finish the cable box set-up (pages 33-36), and turn on the cable box.

To record from other connected equipmentIn step 3 , press I.SELECT to switch the display as follows:

LI: To record via the LINE IN 1 jacks on the rear panel.

L2: To record via the LINE IN2 jacks on the front panel.

Basic Recording on VHS cassette

Load a VHS cassette with the safety tab attached.

Watching a TV program while recording another (including S-VHS/ S-VHS ET recording)

1) While recording, pressTV/VCR to turn off
“VCR” indicator.

 

2)Choose another channel using the channel selector on the TV.

Skipping unnecessary scenes while recording (including S-VHS/S-VHS ET recording)

Press PAUSE/STILL to stop recording momentarily. To resume recording, press PAUSE/STILL again.

Note

The VCR automatically shifts to the stop mode if the recording pause mode continues for 10 minutes.

Recording off time setting (including S-VHS/S-VHS ET recording)

By setting the recording off time, the recording stops and the VCR is turned off automatically.

While recording, pressREC on the VCR

 

 

repeatedly to set the desired off time.

 

 

Each time you press

REC , each half-hour up to

 

 

about 4 hours later and “- : - -” appear cyclically.
