Rechargeable batteries have a memory effect that reduces standby and talk time. To avoid this memory effect, on a monthly basis, use the phone until the batt LED blinks. Then charge the battery for 15 hours.
Cleaning the battery contacts
To maintain a good charge, it is important to clean all battery contacts on the handset and base unit about once a month. Use a pencil eraser or other contact cleaner.
