To ensure safety of users, the FC C has established cr iteria for the amount of ra dio frequency energ y
that can be safely absor bed by a user or bystander ac cording to the intend ed usage of the produc t. This

FCC Part 68 and ACTA

This equipment com plies with Part 68 of the FC C rules and with techni cal requirements ad opted by the
Administrative Coun cil for Terminal Attachme nts (ACTA). The label on the back or bot tom of this equipment
contains, among oth er things, a product id entier in the format US:A AAEQ##TXXX X. This identier mu st
be provided to your telep hone service provi der upon request.
The plug and jack used to c onnect this equipm ent to premises wiring a nd the telephone netw ork must
comply with applic able Part 68 rules an d technical requirem ents adopted by ACTA. A compli ant telephone
cord and modular plug i s provided with this pro duct. It is designed t o be connected to a compa tible modular
jack that is also compl iant. An RJ11 jack should normal ly be used for connect ing to a single line and an
RJ14 jack for two lines. See the in stallation instru ctions in the user’s man ual.
The Ringer Equivalenc e Number (REN) is used to dete rmine how many devices yo u may connect to your
telephone line and sti ll have them ring when you are c alled. The REN for this pro duct is encoded as t he 6th
and 7th characters fol lowing the US: in the produ ct identier (e.g., if ## is 03, t he REN is 0.3). In most, but
not all areas, the sum of all RE Ns should be ve (5.0) or less. Fo r more information, ple ase contact your
telephone servic e provider.
This equipment may not b e used with Party Line s. If you have specially wir ed alarm dialing equip ment
connected to your tele phone line, ensure the c onnection of this equ ipment does not disa ble your alarm
equipment. If you have que stions about what will d isable alarm equipm ent, consult your tele phone service
provider or a qualied i nstaller.
If this equipment is ma lfunctioning, it mu st be unplugged from th e modular jack until th e problem has been
corrected. Repair s to this telephone equi pment can only be made by t he manufacturer or its au thorized
agents. For repair proc edures, follow the ins tructions outlin ed under the Limited wa rranty.
If this equipment is ca using harm to the teleph one network, the tele phone service prov ider may temporarily
discontinue your tel ephone service. Th e telephone servi ce provider is require d to notify you before
interrupting serv ice. If advance notic e is not practical, you wil l be notied as soon as po ssible. You will be
given the opportun ity to correct the pr oblem and the telepho ne service provid er is required to inform you
of your right to le a compl aint with the FCC. Your telephon e service provider m ay make changes in its
