OPERATIONS
Blade Speed
The blade speed can be varied between 550 and 1650
SPM (strokes per minute). Blade speed adjustment is made
with the variable speed/power knob on the front of the
scroll saw, as shown in Figure 14.

Blade Selection Chart
Use the information in the chart below as a guideline for selecting the right blade and blade speed for
your operation.

10 TPI 0.110 " 0.020" 120 0–1650 General purpose blade for cutting hard and
soft woods between 3⁄16"–2". Also good for
plastics, paper, felt, and bone.
15 TPI 0.110 " 0.020" 700–1200 Thin wood and plastic between 3⁄32" –1⁄2".
18 TPI 0.095" 0.010" 55 0–700 Good for tight radius cutting in thin hard
and soft woods between 3⁄32"–
1⁄8". Also good
for thin pieces of bone, ivory, plastics and
ven eer.
