The Function Mode
The [FUNCTION] button provides access to a range of functions that give the
Clavinova extraordinary versatility. The functions are categorized in groups as
follows:

To Select a Function ...........................................................................
ZPress the [FUNCTION] button so that its indicator lights.
NOTE
Functions cannot be selected during demo/piano song playback or when
the recorder is in operation.
XUse the FUNCTION [<] and [>] buttons to select the desired
function: F1 through F8 on the CLP-840/820/820S; F1 through F9
on the CLP-880/860.
CIn the case of the Scale (F2), Dual Mode (F3), Split Mode (F4:
CLP-880/860), Pedal Functions (F5: CLP-880/860), MIDI (F7:
CLP-840/820/820S, F8: CLP-880/860), and Backup (F8: CLP-840/
820/820S, F9: CLP-880/860) functions, you will have to press the
[+/YES] button once to enter the respective sub-mode after the
function has been selected, and then use the FUNCTION [<] and
[>] buttons again to select the desired sub-function.
NOTE
The Dual or Split (CLP-880/860) mode must be engaged before the F3
and F4 functions can be selected, respectively. If the corresponding mode
is not engaged,
F3.-
or
F4.-
will appear on the display and the
corresponding sub-mode will not be available.
The Dual mode can be engaged while in the Function mode, but the
Function mode must be exited before the Split mode (CLP-880/860) can
be engaged.
VSet the function as required by using the [–/NO] and [+/YES]
buttons (see the individual function descriptions, below).
NOTE
After selecting the function, the current setting will be displayed when the
[/NO] or [+/YES] button is pressed for the first time.
BPress the [FUNCTION] button so that its indicator goes out to exit
from the function mode.
