• Up to two PCI or PC cards can be used. However,
you can use only one card at a time.
If you are using an IEEE1394 interface built into the
computer, you can use only one IEEE1394 PCI or
PC interface card.
• When using a laptop or notebook computer, a built-
in IEEE 1394 terminal may not be available. If this is
the case, install an appropriate PC interface card.

• When using a PowerBook under battery power,
go Apple menu

Saver]

[Advanced Settings] (Settings for: Bat-
tery), and remove the check from the “Allow pro-
cessor cycling.”
Software Installation
Acrobat Reader
In order to view the electronic (PDF) manuals
included with each application, you’ll need to
install Acrobat Reader.

Double-click on the “Acroread_” folder. Three
different language folders will be displayed:
English, German, French and Japanese.

Select the language you want to use and dou-
ble-click on its folder. “Reader Installer” will be
displayed.
The Installer name may differ depending on
the language you select.

Double-click on the “Reader Installer.”
Acrobat Reader Setup Dialog will be dis-
played.

Execute the installation by following the direc-
tions appearing on the screen.
After installation is complete, the Acrobat
folder appears on your computer (in Hard
Disk, as the default).
For information on using the Acrobat Reader,
refer to the Reader Guide in the Help menu.
mLAN software and OMS
mLAN Tools 2.0 software includes a driver that enables you to connect mLAN devices to a computer.
mLAN Applications for YAMAHA enables audio and MIDI signals to be transferred between a
computer and mLAN devices via mLAN cables. This software enables you to connect the i88X,
mLAN16E, or 01X to a computer via mLAN.
Follow the steps below to install these software applications.
