Serial Port and Windows® operating systems

The Windows operating system default settings for th e serial port comm unication clos ely

match the printer’s defaults settings with one exception; the data Flow Control settings. The

Windows default data Flow Control setting is NONE. The GK printer requires data Flow

Control set to Hardware.

Indepent of the printer driver, the printer will auto-detect the between DTE (Null-Modem) and

DCE (Straight-through) serial port cable configurations. See Serial Communications

on page 19 for more details on this and other serial port interface configuration.

Ethernet

This printer option has a variety of methods and utilities to assist with printer connection to a

network (WAN or LAN) and to co nfigure ne tworked pr inters. Th e printer in cludes int ernal

Web pages to pro vide easy access to p rinter and ne twork conf iguration . The web pag es are

accessible via the printers IP address using any web browser. The free version of ZebraNet™

Bridge soft ware allows you to cent rally depl oy, manage, an d monitor y our Zebra® printers

with automatic Zebra® printer discovery up to 3 printers from a single PC screen anywhere on

your global network. Zebr aNet™ Brid ge Enterpris e is availabl e for purch ase to manag e larger

numbers of Zebra® printers.

Note • The GK™ printer does not support Windows® Serial Port Plug and Play (PnP)

device detection at this time.
