9.2 Power and Light Problems

The PLA-407 does not turn on. None of the lights turn on.

1Make sure you are using the power cord included with the PLA-407.

2Make sure the power cord is connected to the PLA-407 and plugged in to an appropriate power source. Make sure the power source is turned on.

3Disconnect and re-connect the power cord to the PLA-407.

4Remove the Powerline adapter from the outlet. Then connect an electrical device that you know works into the same power outlet. This checks the status of the power outlet.

5If the problem continues, contact the vendor.

The ETHERNET light does not turn on.

1Check the hardware connections. See the Quick Start Guide.

2Inspect your cables for damage. Contact the vendor to replace any damaged cables.

3Check the Ethernet adapter on your computer and make sure it’s enabled and working properly.

4If the PLA-407 is connected to an Ethernet switch or router, make sure the device is working correctly, and that the LAN network is working and configured correctly as well.

The HomePlug light does not turn on.

1Check all PLA-407s on your network have the latest firmware installed. PLA-407s with the latest firmware cannot communicate with PLA-407s using earlier versions of the firmware. Go to Section 5.4 on page 41 for instructions on installing the latest firmware.
