Tape Client capabilities

The Tape Client provides the following capabilities:

Offline printing of LCDS data stream

Data transmission via Socket Gateway

Submission of tape client jobs to other EPS that are running the Socket Gateway

Processing of LCDS Print Description Language (PDL) commands in job source libraries (JSLs)

NOTE: PDL is the legacy J11 compiler; XJDC is the DocuSP compiler.

Tape dump

Control by the system user interface

Rewinding and unloading

Checking tape status

Moving over blocks and files to reposition tape

Tape job accounting

Printing of multiple jobs initiated by a single Start command
