NOTE: The locking tab protects the scanner’s scan head by holding it securely in position. Lock the scanner when transporting it from one location to another, but always remember to unlock it before scanning. The scanner will not scan when locked.

2.If your scanner does not have a Transparency Adaptor, go to Step 3. If your scanner has a Transparency Adaptor, check that the cable is plugged into the option port on the back of the scanner.

Your scanner is shipped with the cable already plugged into the option port, however, if the cable came loose during shipping, you must plug it into the port securely.
