3.Click on DIAL on the tool bar to place a telephone call.

4.Type the telephone number, then click on OK.

The modems negotiate a connection and your session is connected through the data modem and through the speakerphones.

5.Use your session to talk and send data files.

6.Click on HANG UP on the tool bar to end the telephone session.

NOTE: You can also initiate the AT commands for DSVD by including commands in your modem initialization string. For example, you can use the following string with many popular communication programs:

AT&F&similar.&similar.&similar.E1V1X4&C1&D2%E1

USING THE MWAVE MODEM

The IBM Multimedia Modem Plus allows you to view the modem's operational state. You may also need this information to help diagnose modem communication problems.

NAVIGATE: From the Windows Multimedia Modem select Mwave Modem. If you select Mwave Modem from OS/2, go to the Minimized Window Viewer to view this window. (You can change the default setting of this icon.)

The meanings of the communication codes are:

Master Reset

DTR Data Terminal Ready

SD

Send Data

RD

Receive Data

OH

Off Hook

CD

Carrier Detect

AAAuto Answer HS High Speed

The Mwave Modem Window shows the current operating speed setting. You can change the operating speed by selecting Options and selecting your choice from the drop down menu.
