vTo update BIOS NVRAM defaults, type: flasutil /U
Press ″Enter.″
vTo verify NVRAM in all adapters, type: flasutil /X
Press ″Enter.″
Using the flasutil BIOS Update Utility menu
Complete the following steps to update the DS4000 FC 4Gbps
1.CD: Insert the IBM System Storage DS4000 FC 4Gbps
Diskette: Insert the BIOS Update Utility diskette into the diskette drive and restart the server. Your server starts to a DOS prompt.
2.From the DOS prompt, type: flasutil
3.Press ″Enter.″
4.If you have only one adapter installed, go to Step 5. If you have more than one adapter installed, a list of adapters and I/O addresses displays. At the command prompt, type the appropriate I/O address and press ″Enter.″
5.The following option menu displays.
F = Write Flash
FB = Write MultiFlash image
W = Copy Flash to file: QLxxROM.SAV S = Display serial number
V = Display current BIOS version C = Verify Flash
Y = Display port name L = Write NVRAM
A = Write NVRAM and defaults
D = Copy NVRAM to file: QLxxNVRM.SAV U = Update BIOS NVRAM defaults
X = Verify NVRAM

a.All of the listed options are supported and can be run from the
b.Caution: Do not use the F or FR options to update the FC 4Gbps
c.Each adapter can be configured with more than one option.
d.Because there is only one BIOS (Flash) area in a dual port FC 4Gbps
6.Type the letter for the option you want and press ″Enter.″
7.If you have additional adapters installed, or if you want to configure your adapter with more than one option, continue with Step 8; otherwise, go to Step 9.
