The output buttons display the selected input's audio level and polarity (gain or attenuation). When the buttons are lit green, they indicate a gain (+) audio level.

When the output buttons are lit red, they indicate an attenuation (-)level. In this example, the output buttons display an audio gain level of +8 dB.

B2 = Fast blink (2 dB)

B1 = Slow blink (1 dB)

= Lit (3 dB)

4. Slowly rotate the volume knob counterclockwise (figure 3-37). Note the output button indication changes that occur as you rotate the knob.

Turn the volume knob slowly. The encoder will not reliably recognize the level change if you turn the knob too quickly.

Figure 3-37 shows the result of reducing the audio level a total of 9 dB. Note that the level is now displayed in red to indicate a negative level.
