Muting and unmuting the local audio (TPX 88 A only)

You can mute all local audio (captive screw connector) outputs from the front panel. Mute or unmute the audio outputs by pressing and releasing the Mute All button (figure 3-43).

Press the button to toggle audio mute on or off for all outputs.

The Mute LED lights when audio is muted.

The Mute LED is unlit when audio is unmuted.

Figure 3-43 — Muting and unmuting outputs

The mute all function is saved to non-volatile memory. When you cycle power, muted outputs remain muted.

Individual audio outputs can be muted under RS-232/RS-422 control only. See chapter 4, Programmer’s Guide, and chapter 5, Matrix Software, for details.

Front panel security lockout (executive mode)

The front panel security lockout limits the operation of the TPX matrix switcher from the front panel. When the switcher is locked, all of the front panel functions are disabled except for the view-only mode functions. See Viewing a configuration on page 3-13. Other than in view-only mode, if the user pushes a front panel button when the switcher is locked, the button blinks twice and the switcher does not otherwise respond to the user’s front panel operations.

To toggle the front panel lock on or off, press and hold the Enter and Esc buttons for approximately three seconds (figure 3-44). The Enter LED blinks to indicate the lock’s state change. Release the Enter and Esc buttons. To toggle the front panel lock state again, press and hold the Enter and Esc buttons again.

Press and hold the Enter and Esc buttons simultaneously to toggle the front panel lock on or off. Figure 3-43 — Muting and unmuting outputsFront panel security lockout (executive mode)
