4. Slowly rotate the volume knob clockwise (figure 3-41). Note the output button indication changes that occur as you rotate the knob.

Turn the volume knob slowly. The encoder will not reliably recognize the level change if you turn the knob too quickly.

Figure 3-41 shows the result of increasing the audio volume level by a total of up to 56 percent.

The input buttons display the selected output's audio volume level.

Each lit input button indicates up to 14 percent of the total input volume is applied to the output. Each unlit or background illuminated input button indicates 1 dB to 7 dB of attenuation is applied to the output.

In this example, the green input buttons indicate that the switcher is outputting approximately 84 percent of the applied audio input. The unlit input buttons indicate an audio volume attenuation of approximately 14 dB.
