Chapter 7: BIOS

PCI Express Spread Spectrum

This setting is used to enable spread spectrum for the PCI Express. Options are Disabled and Down Spread.

Primary Video

This setting is used to switch the PCI bus scanning order while searching for the video card. It allows the user to select the type of primary VGA in case of multiple video controllers. Options are Slave PCI-Express and Master PCI-Express.

I/O Device Configuration

Onboard Floppy Controller

Use this setting to Enable or Disable the onboard fl oppy controller.

Serial Port1 Address

This option specifi es the base I/O port address and Interrupt Request address of serial port 1. Select "Disabled" to prevent the serial port from accessing any system resources. When this option is set to Disabled, the serial port physically becomes unavailable. Select "3F8/IRQ4" to allow the serial port to use 3F8 as its I/O port address and IRQ 4 for the interrupt address. The options are Disabled, 3F8/IRQ4, 3E8/IRQ4 and 2E8/IRQ3.

Serial Port2 Address

Select "2F8/IRQ3" to allow the serial port to use 2F8 as its I/O port address and IRQ 3 for the interrupt address. The options are Disabled, 2F8/IRQ3, 3E8/IRQ4 and 2E8/IRQ3.

Serial Port 2 Mode

Tells BIOS which mode to select for serial port 2. The options are Normal, IrDA and ASKIR.
