9.5 Vehicle Dispatch Operation
The CTM-132 modem is an ideal device for vehicle dispatch operations. Its embedded GPS receiver and CDMA network Auto Connect capability mean that the vehicles position is always known by central dispatch while the modems communication capabilities provide a data path for sending and receiving reports and instructions. It is not necessary for a computer or terminal device to be present for the GPS reporting function to be active thereby allowing the vehicle operator to remove the host device for operations away from the vehicle without disrupting this position reporting.
