Installing the Backplane

1Align the holes on the backplane with the holes on the enclosure.

2Tighten the captive screw to secure the backplane to the chassis. See Figure 3-14 for PowerVault MD1200 or Figure 3-15 for PowerVault MD1220.

3Replace the screws that secure the backplane to the chassis. See Figure 3-14 for PowerVault MD1200 or Figure 3-15 for PowerVault MD1220.

4Align the slots on the EMM/power supply cage with the tabs on the chassis. See Figure 3-13.

5Push the EMM/power supply cage toward the front of the enclosure.

6Replace the screws that secure the EMM/power supply cage to the chassis.

7Replace the control panel. See "Installing the Control Panel" on page 44.

8Replace the power supply/cooling fan modules. See "Installing a Power Supply/Cooling Fan Module" on page 41.

9Replace the hard drives. See "Installing a Hard Drive" on page 32.

10Connect all the cables to the enclosure.

11Turn on the enclosure and the host server.
