TCP/IP Network Settings
From the Network Settings, configure the TCP/IP network settings as follows:
Automatic IP Configuration
DHCP - Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a protocol that lets network administrators centrally manage and automate the assignment of IP addresses in an organization's network. Check the box to allow a DHCP server on the network to assign the IP address.
Important!
DHCP should only be enabled if you are using dynamic IP address notification, or if your version of DHCP can update a DNS server, which then allows you to access the AXIS 250S by name. If DHCP is enabled and you cannot access the unit, you may have to reset it to the factory default settings (see page 34) and then perform the installation again (see page 10).
BOOTP - Check this box to use BOOTP to automatically assign an IP address. Requires a BOOTP server on your system. BOOTP is enabled by default and is required for installation using the AXIS IP Installer.
