Appendix F - Technical Specifications

System Requirements - The AXIS 250S uses the standard Internet TCP/IP suite of protocols and can be used with Windows 2000 or XP. Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5, DirectX 8.1 and Windows Media Player 7.1 are required for viewing video streams.

Installation - Physical network connection using RJ-45 twisted pair cable. 10baseT or 100baseTX Fast Ethernet.

Management - Remote configuration and status using Web-based tools. Compression - MPEG-2. User-controlled compression level.

Video Features - Configurable resolution, color and bit rate settings.

Video Input BNC - Input for composite video with no termination or 75 Ohm. NTSC and PAL. Video Input Y/C - Input for S-Video. NTSC and PAL.

Audio Inputs - One 3.5mm microphone input for stereo or mono microphone. One 3.5mm stereo input for connecting line-in stereo or mono signal.

Stereo microphone input - High sens. Max:-39.0 dBu (25 mVpp)

Stereo microphone input - Low sens. Max:-18.1 dBu (270 mVpp)

Line input - Max:+2.7 dBu (3.0 Vpp)

Supported Network protocols - TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, SMTP, NTP, ARP, DHCP, BOOTP.

Terminal block connector A - 2 digital inputs (max 12V in) and 1 transistor output (max 24V, 0.1 A). 1 pin for ground.

Terminal block connector B - 2 digital inputs (max 12V in), 2 pins for RS-485 serial communication.

Pre/Post Alarm Buffer - Approximately 3 MByte memory allows up to 1 minute (at low bit rate) of pre/post alarm video storage.

Serial Connector - One 9-pin D-Sub RS-232, max 115 Kbps.

Pan/Tilt/Zoom - PTZ support via RS-232 or RS-485 for remote camera control. See www.axis.com or the on-line help for information about supported devices.

Security - Multi-user and multi-level password protection.

Operating Conditions: - Temp: 40o to 125oF (5o to 50oC), Humidity: 8-80% RH.
