3.Turn the notebook over so the top is facing up and remove the five screws securing the top cover.

Note: The screw nearest to the optical drive is shorter than the other four.

4. Remove the two screws securing the top cover underneath the keyboard cover.

5. Release the white clip securing the touchpad flat cable and disconnect the cable.
