Requirements for Software Installation

DNLD.EXE - A software downloading utility that can run under both Windows 95/98 and Windows NT.

C.1.2 Uniden Data 2000 Software Downloading Instructions

1.Insert the Uniden Data 2000 to a PC Card slot.

2.Create a directory such as UD2000 in a local hard drive and copy dnld.exe and pccard.dnl files into it from the installation CD-ROM.

Note: You may use a latest download file obtained from other source.

3.From the PC, click Start and open an MS DOS prompt from Program.

4.Select the directory in which you copied the files, using the DOS command cd <DIRECTORY NAME>.

Example: cd UD2000

5.Type in the command DNLD PCCARD.DNL -port <COM port> -atrate <baudrate> -dlrate<baudrate>.

Example: DNLD PCCARD.DNL -port COM2 -atrate 9600 -dlrate 57600. (This option directs the PC Card to use PC COM port 2 and sets the atrate, to 9600, and baudrate to 57600.)

Important: The atrate and baudrate must match in order for a successful download to occur.
