Removing the Contivity 1600 front bezel

You must remove the bezel to insert the recovery diskette. Note that you do not need to turn off the Contivity switch if you are only removing the front bezel. Figure 29 shows you how to remove the front bezel from the Contivity switch.

Warning: When handling the Contivity switch outside of the rack-mount shelf, do not use the part labeled with the Nortel Networks logo and the LEDs as a handle.

Note that the first few times you remove the front bezel it will be rather difficult to remove. This is because the ball studs and socket clips are new. After a few times, removal is easier.

To remove the front bezel you need a Phillips screwdriver.

1Turn each of the two screws on the front bezel a quarter turn counter-clockwise.

2Grip the two handles and firmly pull the bezel towards you to unsnap it from the chassis.
