The DB9 serial port on the Mini Port Replicator supports
The male DB9 serial port on the Keyspan Adapter is seen as a serial port by Mac OS. The Keyspan serial port is interfaced via the "CommToolBox" API and is then available to any program that accesses serial ports via this API. For programs that don't use the CommToolBox to access serial ports, the Keyspan adapter can emulate the PRINTER port as found on older Macintosh computers.
Note: You can only have one PRINTER port on any given computer. In order for the Keyspan adapter to emulate either of these ports, the PRINTER port must not be 'in use' or registered by other software or hardware.
