Preparations prior to playing

1 Set the volume to the minimum by using

VOLUME.

2 Set <BASS>, <TREBLE> and

<BALANCE> to the center position.

3 Turn on the power by pressing <POWER>.

• The power indicator blinks red for several seconds, then lights green.

Turning the Power Off

Press [POWER]

The power indicator lights red and the power is set to the standby mode.

When in the standby mode, press [POWER] to turn the power on.

Press <POWER>

The power indicator turns off, and so does the power.

NOTE:

Power continues to be supplied to some of the circuitry even when the power is in the standby mode. When leaving home for long periods of time or when traveling, either press <POWER> to turn off the power, or unplug the power cord from the power outlet.

Starting playback

1 Use INPUT SELECTOR to select the source to be played.

Select one of the sources among the following: TAPE-2, TAPE-1, PHONO, CD, TUNER and DVD/AUX.

The input indicator for the selected source lights.

2 Play the selected source.

3 Adjust the volume by using VOLUME.

4 Adjust the tone with <BASS>, <TREBLE>, <BALANCE> and LOUDNESS.

Using the microphone

1 Plug the microphone with 1/4" jack.

2 Set MIC MIX to "ON".

• The MIC MIX indicator lights orange, then the mic input can be mixed with the source input.

3 Set AUTO MUSIC MUTE and MIC AGC

to "ON" or "OFF".

AUTO MUSIC MUTE can be setting the mute level. (Page 3)

4 Adjust the mic level by using <MIC LEVEL>.

5 Use the microphone.

NOTES:

When not using the microphone, unplug it.

DN-A300M does not have Phantom Power.

It is recommended to use a microphone equipped with a talk switch. Otherwise, the music source may be muted if a trigger signal is output. Please turn AUTO MUSIC MUTE button off when you do not use a microphone.

Starting recording

1 Use INPUT SELECTOR to select the source (other than TAPE-1 or TAPE-2) to be recorded.

When you select PHONO, CD, TUNER or DVD/AUX, recording can be made on TAPE-1, TAPE-2 or both simultaneously.

2 Set the device connected to the TAPE-1 (or TAPE-2) terminal to the recorded mode.

3 Start playing the source to be recorded.
