Locking Files (LOCK)

The file lock feature is very useful to protect important data from accidental erase. Locked files are never erased except when the card is formatted (☞ P.46).

			Select the file you want to LOCK,
			press the MENU button.
		1 The menu appears (☞ P.35).
		2	Press the FF or REW button until
			“LOCK” in SUB MENU flashes on the
1,3			display.	LOCK
				BEEP
			Press the MENU button.	FORMAT

5,6		3 The file locking setup process begins.
			Press the FF or REW button to
			choose between “ON” and “OFF”. a
		4 ON: Locks the file and prevents it from		FOLDER A
			being edited or erased.	ON
			OFF: Unlocks the file and allows it to be	OFF

edited or erased. a Erase lock indicator

5Press the MENU button to select the option.

6 Press and hold the MENU button for 1 second or longer to close the menu.

Notes

•You cannot append, overwrite, or insert recordings into locked files (☞ P.25-26).

•You cannot set index marks in locked files (☞ P.38).
