26 Replacing the Palm Rest

Procedure

1Replace the status-light board. See "Replacing the Status-Light Board" on page 56.

2Align the palm-rest assembly with the computer base and gently snap the palm-rest assembly into place.

3Replace the screws that secure the palm-rest assembly to the computer base.

4Connect the power-button board cable, status-light board cable, speaker-LED board cable, and touchpad cable to the respective connectors on the system board.

5Turn the computer over and replace the screws that secure the palm-rest assembly to the computer base.

Postrequisites

1Replace the dispaly assembly. See “Replacing the Display Assembly” on page 48.

2Replace the macro keyboard. See “Replacing the Macro Keyboard” on page 38.

3Replace the keyboard. See “Replacing the Keyboard” on page 35.

4Replace the center control cover. See "Replacing the Center Control Cover" on page 29.

5Replace the hard drive(s). See “Replacing the Hard Drive(s)” on page 25.

6Replace the base cover. See "Replacing the Base Cover" on page 15.

7Replace the battery pack. See "Replacing the Battery Pack" on page 13.

8Replace any card or blank that you removed from the Media-Card Reader.

9Follow the instructions in "After Working Inside Your Computer" on page 11.
